Upcoming events
| In 2021, LC4A launched the Art Acquisition Project, a strategic initiative focused on acquiring and promoting works by local and regional artists who have gained recognition from art institutions across the United States and, in some cases, internationally. This initiative serves as the foundation for what will eventually become Laredo's first Museum of Contemporary Art. Since the project's inception, we have successfully organized nine exhibitions that have captivated our community and enriched the cultural landscape. LC4A hosts five exhibitions each year, each with a set of educational components designed to engage and inspire our community. Click below to learn more about upcoming events. |
Kids art studioLC4A collaborates with exhibiting artists to develop lesson plans based on their techniques, styles, philosophies, and methods. These classes offer children from various backgrounds the opportunity to nurture their creativity, build confidence, and serve a critical role in our mission, especially for children living below the poverty line. | ARTIST TALKS These free, public talks facilitate in-depth conversations with the exhibiting artists, providing insights into their work, techniques, influences, and personal journeys in the art world. These talks are recorded, shared on our social platforms, and archived at the Center to inspire aspiring artists and art students. |
WORKSHOPS Exhibiting artists also lead workshops, often at low or no cost, catering to students of all ages, including high school, college, and university students. These workshops provide hands-on experience, enabling students to refine their craft, understand the creative process, and receive valuable critiques from the artists. |
